On April 27, 2008 from 12 noon to 4pm at the Melville Marriott, the Lupus Alliance of America LI/Q Affiliate will be holding a Gala Brunch to raise funds and honor several supporters who have gone above and beyond the call in the fight against lupus. Spend your Sunday afternoon enjoying a delightful brunch, listening to the phenomenally soothing voice of an award winning opera singer, winning fantastic prizes in a Chinese auction, and taking home a gift bag full of fabulous items, all while helping someone with lupus.

The event will feature a performance by award winning songwriter/producer & recording artist, Micheal Castaldo, whose latest album, “La Dolce Vita ‘NAmerica” has received rave reviews. Micheal who has graciously donated his time and talent to the Lupus Alliance in the past, has also donated a 1 liter bottle of his family’s renowned Pellegrino Certified Olive Oil EVOO, direct from Calabria Italy for the Chinese Auction, as well as a special prize; a scenic joyride in his custom convertible roadster which will include a complimentary lunch, and a DVD of the experience.

Although the Gala is a fundraiser, the event is really about saying thank you to the honorees who have all generously volunteered their time, effort and money to help the Lupus Alliance fund their many programs and reach out to those who have lupus in the Nassau/Suffolk and Queens area. The Honorees this year are; Richard Safrath, Esq. and the McCarthy Foundation, Christine Donato of ButYouDontLookSick.com and the Miserandino Family, Dr. Robert Phillips of the Center for Coping in Hicksville, and
Greg T and the Z-100 radio station.

Whether you would like to come out and support one of the honorees, or if you would just like to have a delightful brunch and participate in the auction, the gala should be an exciting event with something for everyone. Tickets are $60 per person, or you can purchase a table of ten for $500. If you cannot attend the event but would like to help, you can purchase an ad in the Gala journal, or donate items for the auction or gift bags. Journal ad prices range from $25-$1000. Several journal ad levels also include the posting of your company’s link and logo on the Alliance website.
