2003 Motorcycle Ride for Lupus |
The Blue Knights New York X held the 3rd Annual Motorcycle Ride for Lupus on September 21, 2003. Over 400 bikers participated in the 85 mile Poker Run.
Thank you to Lou and Janice Sofia and the Blue Knights New York X for organizing this event and providing help throughout the day. Over $10,287.00 was raised.
Joe Dazzo of East Meadow Dunkin' Donuts generously provided coffee and donuts for everyone. Thank you, Joe.
The wonderful sounds of the Roadhouse Band, led by Vic Fusco (a Board Member) greeted the riders as they arrived back from the ride. Vic and his band continuously support this Alliance by performing at other lupus events.
The riders were also treated to a delicious lunch prepared and served by Applebee's of Bellmore. Thank you to Bellmore Managers, Kathy Morales and Dan Agostino and the crew from Bellmore, Dan, Allisa, Mike, Gaylort and Tom. And.. thank you to the Adam, Edgar, Nat Untracht & Jason from Applebee's of Valley Stream and Ryan from East Islip Applebee's.
Thank you to Pat O'Connor of Pepsi for providing the soda and to Matt Deal of Trader Joe's of Merrick for providing the water.
Eisenhower Park Supervisor Katie Kocienda and her assistant Dorothy Wade are always there to make sure all of our needs are see to. Tedd Bial, Supervisor of Mobile Units provided us with a wonderful crew to set up the Show Mobile when he is not able to be there himself.
A special thank-you goes to Buzz Kanter, Editor-in-Chief of American Iron Magazine for doing a great job as MC. And thank you for donating Road Bike and American Iron magazines to be handed out the at this event. Buzz also donated 10 one-year subscriptions to the above-mentioned magazines as raffle prizes.
